Hello! We are Tony and Jackie Allison. We would first like to ask for prayers for our fertility journey. About 6 years ago, we started trying to have a family. I got pregnant but unfortunately, miscarried. We were devastated. We thought we’d get pregnant again quickly, but unfortunately we didn’t. A year of trying with ovulation kits and natural means didn’t pay off, so we decided to reach out to a fertility specialist. We tried multiple fertility drugs, including daily injections, but no luck. Then, we progressed to IUI treatments. After 3 unsuccessful IUI attempts, our doctor in NC recommended IVF. We were already spending over $2,000 a month on other basic treatments and were emotionally and financially exhausted.

We felt frustrated and isolated with our journey, so we decided to move home to PA to be closer to family. A few months after our move, I became pregnant, naturally! We were so excited… but it ended in another miscarriage. Our hearts were broken, but God continues to sustain us!

We then decided to undergo a laparoscopy procedure (surgery). The doctor confirmed endometriosis and, given our history, suggested IVF as the only path forward to biological parenthood at this time. PA is a non-mandated state and therefore insurance companies are not mandated to cover IVF (I’ve called multiple insurance companies and none of them in PA will). We have also applied for several grants with no luck.

Along the way, we were approved through the state of PA for the foster-to-adopt program! We continue to work with our caseworker and are very hopeful that the Lord will grow our family in this way; however, we are still longing to have our own biological baby in addition to any foster-to-adopt children that the Lord blesses us with.

As a result, we’ve decided to partner with the Shady Grove Fertility Clinic in Mechanicsburg, PA. They offer a Shared-Risk Program that allows families to have up to 6 IVF cycles. If they do not take home a live baby after 6 cycles, they are refunded. We are starting IVF treatments in July, 2023 and the cost of the program is $25,000. The medications for one round are about $5,000. So far, we’ve saved about $14,000 of our own money to put towards this goal; however, we are still short about $16,000.
